Playing Cards: 2019
A deck of 26 playing cards
Commissioned by dancer and choreographer Brittany Bailey
26 playing cards were drawn in correlation to a series of texts including Batallie’s Solar Anus, Goethe’s The Metamorphosis of Plants and Cunningham’s The Impermanent Art, among many others. The cards were used to choreograph a dance by Brittany Bailey, with each card used as a cue, to instigate and ignite action.
